Family Fiesta Brings a Family Recipe to Highway 4
Baker's only Mexican restaurant started with a food truck and a whole lot of heart
BAKER — Family Fiesta is the only Mexican restaurant in Baker, and it started small, with a food truck. Seven months into business, the owners Ada and Billy White are serving tacos, fajitas, fresh guacamole, and tres leches cake at 5490 Highway 4, next to Dollar General.
It is a multi-generational effort. Ada's parents bring decades of cooking skill to the kitchen, and the whole family's love for the old recipes shows on every plate.
Ada's faith is strong, and it is what motivates her; she credits "God's strength and grace" through the challenges of opening a restaurant.
Her guests' happiness is just as strong a motivator. Ada says her proudest moments come when customers leave with "smiles and compliments" about the food and service.
The Whites are strong supporters of the Baker community: they belong to the new Baker Lions Club and sponsor local sports teams.
